LISSI's Meeting room, Vitry-sur-Seine Sparse And Collaborative Representation for Solving Biometric Problems Abstract: In recent times, development of palm dorsa subcutaneous vein pattern (PDSVP) based biometric authentication/verification systems has evolved as a popular, comparatively new biometric solution methodology. PDSVPs lie beneath the human skin, they cannot be altered until some surgical intervention is carried out and they are believed to be quite unique that remain invariant over a long period of time. Such PDSVPs require specialized thermal imaging for image…

LISSI's Meeting room, Vitry-sur-Seine Compressive Sensing for Medical Imaging Applications Abstract: Compressive Sensing (CS) is a method to capture and represent compressible signals at a rate significantly below the Nyquist rate. Compressive Sensing employs non-adaptive linear projections that preserve the structure of the signal. The signal is then reconstructed from these projections using an optimization process. This talk starts with a brief introduction to compressible signals. Then it discusses transform coding and inefficiencies associated with it. This is followed by…
